Dachshund dogs and puppies are fast learners. They can be very determined but they are highly intelligent.  This dog will want to follow your instructions, especially if you motivate them with food, toys or love.  

Dachshunds aren’t big dogs, but don’t let their looks deceive you.   Most of these dogs have have plenty of courage.  Because these dogs are quick and courageous, Dachshunds used to be used for hunting badgers.

Although people think these dogs can be challenging to train, as long as positive reinforcement and reward based training is used a Dachshund can be trained and enjoys their training.
